Comparison of peak left atrium contraction strain and left atrium empty fraction across three time points. Data were taken from 72 patients from the PAF group (2A and 2B) and 14 patients from the PerAF group (2C and 2D) who presented in SR before, 1 day and 3 months after ablation. It showed that PACS and LAEF initially decreased 1-day following ablation but partially recovered within 3 months in PAF patients. Similar trend was observed in the PerAF patients. LAEF = left atrial emptying fraction; PACS = peak atrium contraction strain
